KMKY August

I think I’ll go with this post instead of the panicked one I was going to write about me not having my freakin’ passport for my trip that I am theoretically taking to Scotland on Friday.  Ack!  Needless to say I have been “sweetly” demanding help all morning and need to calm down, eat chocolate and otherwise soothe myself with a nice little friendly blogging. **Deep cleansing breath, hold, nibble chocolate and… exhale….**  That’s better.

This post is brought to you by the letter F and the Fairy Blogmother who gives us nice friendly things to write about.  Do play along and link up if you like. She will grant you a happy day, or at least a nice change of mood for a moment if you do.

1. What is your favourite kind of pie?

Mmmm… piiiiieee.  Well, I’m pretty open minded when it comes to pie.  Love a good pumpkin, pecan or apple one on a cool fall day.  Yum!  Fruit pies are awesome in season, especially if someone has made them from scratch.  I have had the honour of having a pie by Turtlehead which was awesome and kind of ruined the desire to get a bargain store-bought pie for me ever again.  Think I’ll attempt a few meself this fall, after I work off some of that pesky alcohol and bakery weight that has crept up on me of late.

2. What kind of wedding did you have. I am making the broad assumption here that you are married, if you're not.. what was the last wedding like that you went to.

Well, t’was a lovely traditional thing.  Aimed at pleasing my parents we had the ole’ United Church wedding and country club reception.  The bride was very poufy (see previous post) but ridiculously happy.  The groom was skinny and unaware what he was in for.  Yet we have been together for a while so something worked.  We had a fun party and a wonderful honeymoon in Bermuda.

3. Ever been too a 3D movie?

Hmmm, can’t say that I have.  I think it would be fun to see Step Up 3D, even if it is poorly rated, just because I love to watch the dancing.  I rarely make it to the movies.  My kids won’t go in at theatre so even the Disney movies are out for us.

4. What is the worst movie ever made?

I couldn’t stand the War of the Roses and actually left.  Born on the 4th of July actually made me faint.  Delightful.  Note – only invite me to see a chic-flick.  Apparently I suck at any real movie.

5. Are you all set for back to school?

Bahahahaha!  That would be a no.  Too busy panicking about my passport to think about it.  It will all come together somehow.  Procrastinators unite!

Anniversary

I am not the same person whom he married 18 years ago.  I was a young thing, just out of University.  The pounds have packed on, the face is aging and I’m not as energetic.  Luckily, neither is he.  I’ve known Steve for more years than I haven’t known him now.  We have been through all sort of good, bad and ugly moments together.  And we have come out the stronger for it.

So today, I am blessed to say I am celebrating 18 years of marriage to my best friend.  We are not the same people but better.  (I was going to say something about a fine aged wine but refrained.  Aren’t you glad I still have some self-control?)
